In a bizarre collaboration that challenges traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned rituals and monstrous changes reverberate through the darkness." The narrative features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine cult.
The mission concentrates on "bizarre trials and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
